SIC to Release Rs 68 Million for 14th Month Salary of Casino Employees

The State Investment Corporation (SIC) will release Rs 68 million to pay the 14th month salary for employees of the Casinos of Mauritius.

This financial assistance was approved by the government in response to a demand by the SIC.

The payment will be made this week for the period from 2019 to 2021 and next week for 2022.

The resolution ends a standoff between the Casinos Employees Union (CEU) and the SIC, resolving tensions and providing relief to casino employees.

The SIC will also settle arrears for previous years and exempt eligibility criteria to facilitate payment. The minimum amount per employee will be Rs 75,000.
