Labour MP Arvin Boolell has advised against re-registering SIM cards until the Supreme Court announces its ruling on a filed complaint filed by lawyer Rama Valayden and unionist Ivor Tan Yan.

Boolell reiterated concerns about amendments made to the Information and Communication Technologies Act without prior discussion, specifically regarding mandatory re-registration of SIM cards.

He warned that misinformation could potentially undermine the electoral process.

Boolell accused the MSM ruling party of recruiting specialists from India and Israel to manipulate elections.

Boolell also criticised the lack of transparency in the awarding of a contract for biometric identity cards.
