The coalition of extraparliamentary parties in Mauritius, Linion Moris, has announced its leadership arrangement if they win the upcoming legislative elections.

Nando Bodha will serve as Prime Minister for the first three years, followed by Rama Valayden for the remaining two years.

This agreement, inspired by the Israeli model, was revealed during a presentation of potential candidates and constituency representatives.

Linion Moris consists of Linion Pep Morisien, Le Rassemblement Mauricien, Le Ralliement Citoyen pour la Patrie, and Les Verts Fraternels.

Bodha criticised the current Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth, for winning the previous general election with a low percentage of the votes and failing to revise his policies.

Bodha stressed the importance of building a strong foundation before transitioning power to Valayden to continue the work.

Linion Moris said it remains open to engaging in dialogue with various opposition parties, both parliamentary and extraparliamentary, in order to generate momentum for change.

Valayden emphasised a collaborative decision-making approach that Linion Moris would adopt and expressed a commitment to strengthening equal opportunities, as well as combating drug abuse and corruption.
