Labour pins down the 'Judases' accuses MSM of 'money politics'

Mauritius Labour Party members Satish Faugoo and Yatin Varma could soon face a disciplinary committee after criticising party Leader Dr Navin Ramgoolam.

Speaking for the party’s executive committee on Tuesday afternoon, a reportedly firm Dr Ramgoolam said that he would not be giving in to the “Judases” of the party.

In an interview with Defi Media, ex-minister Faugoo had said he was saddened that the Labour Party was “going adrift and that the party is dysfunctional”.

Faugoo added that the party’s executive committee and political bureau have not been functioning since 2019.

However, Dr Ramgoolam said he has information that those who criticised him and his party have been in contact with the leader of the MSM ruling party, Pravind Jugnauth.

“Someone who is the Chief Judas is in contact with them. He has invited them for tea. You will see, there will be other Judases who will speak. The MSM has given them instructions to attack me. They will come out to attack me. This is the money politics of the MSM,” Ramgoolam said.

“In the next elections, we will need new blood because if the MSM comes back to power, it is your children who will suffer. The old ones have their contribution to make but they have to make way.”
