Mauritius barrister, PwC Legal partner Razi Daureeawo, dies at the age of 41

Barrister Razi Daureeawo, PwC Legal (Mauritius) Ltd, passed away on Friday 27 January 2023, after suffering a heart attack.

Razi Daureeawo, 41, was the son of Me. Rashad Daureeawo, Senior Counsel, and the brother of lawyer Rubna Daureeawo. 

He was the father of two toddlers – aged 18 months and 3 months.

At PwC Legal (Mauritius), Razi Daureeawo led a specialist practice focused on restructuring and insolvency, tax controversy, corporate advisory, offshore and financial services, mergers and acquisition and dispute resolution. 

Prior to joining PwC Legal (Mauritius) Ltd, Razi practised as a solicitor in the UK assisting UK multinational and national corporations including FTSE 100 companies. Razi has acted in matters before the tribunals and Courts of the UK and the European Court of Justice.
