New part-time boss at Equal Opportunities Tribunal
Mrs Sulakshna Beekarry-Sunassee has taken Oath of Office for the President of the Equal Opportunities Tribunal (EOT) this Friday 26 August 2022 before the President of the Republic, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun.
Mrs Bekarry-Sunassee takes the job on a part-time basis.
Any person who feels aggrieved at his/her workplace because of his/her age, gender, or for any other reason; or who feels that he/she has not had equal opportunities as compared to other people in a recruitment exercise, among other things, can file a complaint to the Equal Opportunities Commission.
The EOT may then be called upon to determine whether a person’s rights were not respected or if the person has been treated in a discriminatory way.
