Synthetic drugs detected in lawyer’s toilet vase, says forensic report
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has confirmed the presence of synthetic drugs in the house of Doomila Devi Moheeputh, the partner of lawyer Akil Bissessur.
In a preliminary report cited by Defi Media, the FSL said it was “synthetic cannabinoids”. The exhibits, in particular traces of drugs recovered from a toilet vase, will be added to the prosecution file.
According to police, Bissessur allegedly flushed a certain quantity of drugs in the toilets.
Both appeared in Court on Thursday for their respective bail motions but these were postponed.
The couple was arrested last Friday after 52 grams of synthetic drugs worth Rs 260,000 were seized at the woman’s house in Palma, Quatre-Borrnes.
Both are provisionally charged with drug trafficking.
