Curepipe's most infamous eyesore to be demolished

Curepipe’s Europa Hotel, described by local residents as an “eyesore”, will be finally pulled down. The government will proceed with the compulsory acquisition of the property – it has been abandoned for over two decades.

Instead, the land of a surface area of 1,330 square metres will be called to accommodate a social housing project and a parking lot.

In the old days, the Europa Hotel was considered as being among the best business hotels on the island.

However, it went burst after years of family conflicts and could not be disposed of due to innumerable heirs.
