Trade Unionist Rashid Imrith is no more

Popular trade unionist, Rashid Imrith, President of the Federation of Public Sector Unions (photo), has passed away on Wednesday July 20 after a long illness.

Imrith, who has been a trade unionist since 1977, has an impressive track record of workers’ rights initiatives and battles.

In his last media interview, in l’Express, he expressed concerns over a “general malaise” growing in the country and eroding purchasing power of the middle class.
