Several media have raised questions on a mysterious “big event” that is apparently being planned by social activist Bruneau Laurette.

“28 August 22: The Day of the people, the day we’ll say No together. No to liars. No to dictatorship” said a Facebook post by Laurette.

He revealed there is “something big coming up because enough is enough!”

So, what to expect that day? “I can’t tell you now. It’s a surprise. Actions can start tomorrow any place, anytime, anywhere and will continue until August 28 for the climax. We ask people to be ready,” l’Express newspaper cited Laurette as saying.

He said that the new event could exceed 100,000 people, more than the August 29, 2020 demonstrations over the MV Wakashio oil spill and to demand the resignation of PM Pravind Jugnauth.
