India beefs up diplomatic squad, appoints new Deputy High Commissioner

Indian intends to consolidate its diplomatic team in Mauritius – it has just appointed Vimarsh Aryan as the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Mauritius.

Aryan, said to be a staunch critic of Pakistan, was recently posted at the Permanent Mission of India to United Nations in Geneva.

He has previously also served in Jammu and Kashmir as the Regional Passport Officer and was the Private Secretary to Minister of State for External Affairs General Dr V K Singh before taking his assignment in Geneva.

In July 2019, Vimarsh took a jibe at Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Geneva on the issue of Kashmir. On which he stated, that Islamabad’s portrayal of determination is a ‘state-sponsored terrorism’ criticising Pakistan’s ‘mendacious propaganda’.
