COVID kills 122, a surge of 43% compared to last week

COVID-19 killed 122 more people this week (19-26 November), representing a dramatic 43% rise compared to 85 deaths last week.

Among the 122 patients who died, 36 were under 60 years old, and 86 were above 60 years old.

Some 61 victims, 50%, were vaccinated.

Some 101 patients suffered from comorbidities.

These figures were released by the Minister of Health, Kailesh Jagutpal at a press conference on Friday afternoon.

Since March 5, 2021, the coronavirus has killed 455 people in Mauritius.
