Among the injured is a 16-year-old teenager, whose condition is considered serious. The other injured are also receiving treatment at the North hospital.

Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth said he was devastated by this tragedy. Last year a similar incident occurred at Mare-Longue, resulting in two deaths.
