The Gamma Group, the leading cement market in Mauritius, in partnership with the industrial cement group Cemindo Gemilang from Indonesia, has concluded the acquisition of Cementis Madagascar. This entity, now known as Alpha Ciment, marks the beginning of a new era in the cement industry in Madagascar.
This acquisition is in line with the various initiatives of the group, both operationally and regionally. Following this strategic acquisition, the leaders of Alpha Ciment have identified priority areas.
In addition to modernizing its main plant and production techniques, Alpha Ciment’s vision will focus on supporting sustainable growth. This approach will require the participation of existing human resources, strengthening of additional skills, and a significant investment.
Commenting on this strategic acquisition, Tommy Ah Teck, Executive Chairman of Gamma, confirms that “between Cemindo and Gamma, we have the experience, technical know-how, and financial capacity needed to accelerate project implementation in Madagascar.” He also adds that “this acquisition is part of our expansion strategy and our commitment to bring exceptional value to all our stakeholders.”
