Eleanor's Fury: Cyclone Alert 3 Sweeps Mauritius Coast

Over the past few hours, the severe tropical storm Eleanor has further intensified. The radius of strong winds is confined to around 50 km from the centre, with an average wind speed of 100 km/h and gusts reaching up to 125 km/h.

At 04:00, the severe tropical storm Eleanor was centred approximately 200 km northeast of Mauritius, around point 18.6 degrees south in latitude and 58.8 degrees east in longitude.

Eleanor is moving in a south-southwest direction at a speed of 20 km/h. On this trajectory, Eleanor is dangerously approaching Mauritius and poses a direct threat to the island, according to the Vacoas weather station.

The radius of strong winds could sweep across the eastern part of the island by midday. It is also expected that Eleanor will pass near the East coast this afternoon.
