Digital Payment Revolution: Supporting SMEs with MIPS Boost

Paystation Max, developed by MIPS, is a digitalization revolution aimed at supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The project involves various individuals and partners like Kaleem TV, Ashley Epstein, Vincent Duvergé, Paul Perrier, Sébastien Leblanc, and Florent Masson.

Launched at “La Novelle Usine” in Mangalkhan, “Kass dan Ta” is a national platform focusing on digitalizing payment services for SMEs. According to MIPS CEO, Florent Masson, the initiative seeks to create a positive impact on businesses by embracing digital transformation.

MIPS has already shown significant growth, with a 57% increase in processed flows and a doubling of active merchants in recent years. Visa’s support adds to the credibility of the project and is crucial for the growth of Mauritian SMEs. Kaleem TV is the first to benefit from the new Paystation Max technology for his detergent business.

Sébastien Le Blanc highlights the digital disparity among local SMEs, where only a fraction have access to digital payment services, hindering their growth. The Paystation Max allows merchants to accept payments with ease through a mobile app or card payment method.

This innovation equips businesses with tools to adapt to the evolving digital market demands. Merchants can also access working capital loans ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 million through MIPS and Fundkiss collaboration.

The CEO of Fundkiss, Paul Perrier, emphasises that this financial support will help eligible businesses seize growth opportunities. MIPS plans to leverage the popularity of Prakash Monisha to promote the new payment system, aiming to reach a wider audience.

This initiative marks a significant step towards bridging the digital gap and supporting the growth and competitiveness of SMEs in Mauritius.
