Several protesters were detained by police outside the premises of the Indian House Commission on Thursday, January 11.

Among those detained were Bruneau Laurette, Ivann Bibi, Ingrid Charroux, Alain Malherbes, and Eshan Patel, among others.

They were later allowed to leave. With signs and banners in hand, they held a protest in Ébène.

The protesters wished to know the agreement between Mauritius and India regarding Agaléga.

Later, police officers arrived and took the protesters to Rose-Hill police station. They spent a little over two hours there before being allowed to leave.
