Private Prosecution Against Receiver Manager for Embezzlement of Rs 5.4 million

The private prosecution filed by Sheik Nageeb Maudarbocus, a shareholder of Mauritius Freezone Logistics Limited, accusing Teck Chan Sui Ko, a businessman appointed as receiver manager by MCB, of embezzling a sum of Rs 5,393,861, which was scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, November 29th at the Port Louis District Court, will have to wait.

The representative from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who will decide whether to proceed with the trial, informed the court that she will need more time to make a decision.

As a result, the case has been postponed to January 24, 2024. An arrest warrant has been issued against the defendant, who did not appear in court.
