Tripartite consultations for the 2024 salary compensation in Mauritius have commenced, with the technical committee being chaired by Minister of Labor Soodesh Callichurn.

Representatives from Statistics Mauritius will provide updated economic data, and trade unions and the private sector will present their positions.

The Ministry of Finance will announce the salary compensation amount on December 7th.

Trade unions propose compensation around Rs 1,513, while the president of the Federation of Parastatal Bodies and Other Unions suggests a range of Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000.

Business Mauritius’ Chief Operating Officer, Pradeep Dursun, said the proposed compensation amount is being reviewed following the recent announcement of a minimum wage of Rs 15,000.
