Lux* Belle Mare Nears Completion of Rs 1.9 Billion Renovation

Lux* Belle Mare, undergoing a Rs 1.9 billion reconstruction after last year’s fire, is set to welcome paying guests in early October.

Of the total funds invested, Rs 225 million went towards renovating the undamaged portion. CEO of Lux* Island Resorts, Désiré Elliah, stated that the reconstruction has cost Rs 1.675 billion, plus an additional Rs 225 million for the untouched section.

An agreement of Rs 244 million has been reached to compensate for loss of operation due to the fire.

The hotel already has a 65% occupancy rate for October, with rates expected to be 15-20% higher post-reconstruction.
