Ministry of Health Reverses Course on Pharmacy Guidelines After Judicial Review

The Ministry of Health and the Pharmacy Board, following a Judicial Review filed by the Pharmaceutical Association of Mauritius (PAM), have reversed their decision to enforce the “Guidelines for Operating a Retail Pharmacy” introduced on August 1.

PAM raised concerns about the lack of consultation before implementing these guidelines, leading to the decision’s annulment.

PAM also called for the removal of Pharmacy Board members and questioned the motives behind these guidelines. The association may seek reimbursement for the expenses incurred in pursuing legal action.
