Rs1.1Bn Court House Faces Power Outage

After elevator problems in July, the Supreme Court in Port-Louis faced a new issue this Thursday.
The building, at the intersection of Edith Cavell and Desroches streets in Port Louis, with 13 floors and 24 courtrooms, was hit with a general power shortage, leading to the postponement of trials and civil cases.
The new Supreme Court, inaugurated in 2020, cost $28.122 million (Rs 1.1 billion), and was fully funded by the Indian government.
The Central Electricity Board (CEB) defended itself, stating that the power outage was an internal issue.
