Currimjee Group’s target in real estate: Rs2.5 billion

Mauritius’ Currimjee Group has embarked on a major restructuring exercise since 2020.

Its various real estate businesses are being restructured and streamlined under its subsidiary Real Estate Company Ltd (CIL), which aims to generate rental income from its property portfolio.

CIL’s flagship property is the historic site in downtown Curepipe, Les Arcades Currimjee Arcades (LAC), currently its “main yielding asset”.

CIL now intends to increase the value of its assets sixfold from Rs 382 million (as at 30 June 2022) to more than Rs 2.5 billion within two to three years.
