Major amendments to financial laws in the pipeline

Over a hundred laws will be amended after the presentation of the new Finance Bill 2022 – this will make law all measures announced in the 2022/2023 Budget.

Senior officials are reportedlyfinalisingthe lawthatwillinclude changes regarding the Bank of Mauritius Act.

This will include changes related to opening of accounts to accept deposits from operators engaged in digital currencies.

The Companies Act will also be amended to make it compulsory for companies to hold their AGMs six months after the publication of their Financial Statements.
