A photo of the Minister for Gender Equality and Family Welfare Kalpana Koonjoo-Shah apparently having a nap during Parliament works has gone viral.

L’Express published the photo in which the minister is seen leaning her head against her hand during 2022/2023 Budget debates late this week.

An investigation by the National Assembly officials revealed that the photo was taken by Labour MP Stéphanie Anquetil.

The latter apologized for taking the picture, but said that “she was shocked.”

Minister Koonjoo-Shah has reportedly not yet commented the photo.
