SMEs to get up to Rs200,000 refund after participation in international fair

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will now be able to seek refund for expenses incurred to participate in International fairs through the SME Refund Portal of the Economic Development Board (EDB).

The SME, duly incorporated under the laws of the country, and with a turnover of less than Rs 50 million, may get back up to Rs200,000 per financial year on participation costs, airfares and accommodation.

However, the scheme is not accessible to SMEs engaged in activities in the financial sector, global business, real estate, job contractors and professionals.
