Cybercrime on the rise: Over a thousand cases in 4 months

Cybercrime is on the rise: From January 1 to April 25, 1,098 complaints have been reported to the Computer Emergency Response Team. Such were the figures released by the Mauritian Cybercrime Online Reporting System (MAUCORS).

The MAUCORS is a national online system that allows the public to report cybercrimes occurring on social media securely.

It operates under the aegis of the Ministry of IT, Communication and Innovation.

Out of these cases, 345 were of cyberbullying and 252 of hacking, Defi Media reported.
