Mauritian bags top job at World Trade Organisation
Mauritian national Usha Dwarka-Canabady has been appointed chair of the WTO’s Committee on Trade and Development.
Ambassador Dwarka-Canabady had presented her credentials as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mauritius to the United Nations office in Geneva in July 2020.
She was appointed Secretary of Foreign Affairs in Mauritius in 2015.
Amb. Usha Dwarka-Canabady was Head of the Multilateral Economic Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from January 2007 to March 2013.
She was also Deputy Permanent Representative of Mauritius at the United Nations office in Geneva and at the WTO from July 1996 to June 2002.
