The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Quatre-Bornes is actively searching for a sergeant of the Special Mobile Force (SMF) for premeditated assault on his ex-brother-in-law.

Since 11 pm on Friday, an order for his immediate arrest has been issued.

The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, March 8, at the victim’s home in Quatre-Bornes, where the ex-wife of the police officer, a Woman Chief Inspector (WCI), currently resides.

She contacted the local police station and explained that her ex-husband had arrived at the family home and had forcibly entered the courtyard after hitting the gate several times.

Fearing for her safety and that of her son, the WCI said she fled the scene. Her ex-husband, armed with an iron bar, then attacked her brother.

He hit him several times with the iron bar before stabbing him multiple times.

The brother was seriously injured and was taken to the Princess Margaret Orthopaedic Centre in Candos, where he was admitted after undergoing surgery.

The weapon used, a knife with an 18-centimeter blade, was found in a pool in the courtyard where the assault took place.

The Scene of Crime Office collected evidence on Friday night. Police conducted patrols in the Quatre-Bornes neighborhood in an attempt to apprehend the suspect but were unsuccessful.

A team from the CID in Vacoas went to the sergeant’s home in Hollyrood on Friday night, but he was not there.
