Jugnauth Challenges Rivals: “Find out how I’ll knock you out”
The Prime Minister (PM) made a humorous comment towards his adversaries during the inauguration of a MUGA centre at Beau-Vallon on Wednesday afternoon, April 24.
“Tou MUGA pa parey. The last center I inaugurated was in Malherbes and there, I had boxing gloves on. I was preparing for my opponents soon… You will see how I will knock them out,” said Pravind Jugnauth with a smile.
The PM emphasized the importance of physical activity once again, using his daily routine as an example.
“Once in the office, we are sitting. The same during meetings. Parliament doesn’t need to say. We sit, only the mind does physical activity” he highlighted.
He then focused on the lifestyle of the young generation. “It should be noted that our youth spend their time on social networks via their mobile phones, laptops, among others. These tools are used to improve our knowledge. However, there are many youth who are ‘res anplas’.
That’s why we need to find a balance in our lives,” he urged. According to him, only 23% of Mauritians participate in sports.
“More than 75% of the population is virtually inactive,” lamented Pravind Jugnauth.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that development has also led to a change in people’s consumption habits. “We must act, as our health remains the top priority,” he declared.
Furthermore, Pravind Jugnauth once again defended the construction of the Côte-d’Or sports complex, highlighting the facilities it offers to athletes, especially for their training.
According to the Prime Minister, a British team even came to train there for the upcoming Olympic Games.
