Per Capita Healthcare Expenditure Hits Rs 11,611

The per capita healthcare expenditure in the public health sector has increased from Rs 11,453 to Rs 11,611, according to the Annual Report on Performance for the 2022-23 financial year.

Although the number of patient visits for treatments and follow-ups remained the same as the previous year, there has been an overall increase in the interactions with healthcare services, from 8,773,393 to 9.2 million.

The report also provides key statistics in the public health sector, including life expectancy at birth, maternal mortality rate, number of recorded visits, consultations in maternal and child health clinics, vaccinations administered to children, dialysis sessions performed, surgeries conducted, and the number of facilities available in different categories such as community health centres, regional health centres, mediclinics, community hospitals, regional hospitals, and district hospitals.
