Air Passenger Fees Soar to Rs2.77 Billion in FY 2023/24

The sum collected in terms of passenger fees on airline tickets is set to reach Rs2.77 billion for the financial year 2023/24, compared to Rs1.75 billion for the 2022/23 fiscal year.

This surge is a result of the anticipated growth in passenger numbers and the raised tax rate, which now varies from $13 to $60 per passenger.

In five years, Government pocketed Rs6.65 billion in air passenger fees.
