While a sum of Rs 1,000 was initially mentioned as salary compensation for the year 2023, the trade unions have readjusted their memorandum ahead of the tripartite meeting scheduled for December 7 with the Minister of Finance.

The Confederation of Public and Private Sector Workers (CTSP) has proposed a compensation of Rs 1,513, as well as a minimum wage of Rs 15,000, considering the inflation rate is expected to reach around 7.2% by the end of the year.

The Federation of Parastatal Bodies and Other Unions is demanding between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000.
