New Hospital gets EIA Permit in Three Months
The construction of a new private hospital in Cascavelle can proceed as planned.
Its developer, Cascavelle Hospital Company Ltd, has received the green light from the Ministry of Environment on Friday.
The 111-bed hospital is expected to open in 2025, with an investment of approximately Rs 2 billion.
However, questions are being raised at which the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) permit was approved.
Cascavelle Hospital Company Ltd (CHCL) submitted its application on August 26.
Less than three months later, on Friday, November 10, the company obtained the permit to proceed with the concrete phase of the construction of the 20,172m2 facility near the Cascavelle Shopping Mall, on UNICITI Ltd land, a subsidiary of Medine.
The facility will be run by Falcon Healthcare Group, led by Dr. Zouberr Joomaye, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office.
An agreement has already been signed between the two companies, stating that CHCL will purchase the UNICITI Ltd land for Rs 119.5 million.
This is their third significant private hospital project for the Falcon Healthcare Group.
The group currently manages the Artemis Curepipe Hospital, which has 68 beds and opened a few months ago.
The second project, Artemis Coromandel Hospital, which will offer 120 beds, is currently under construction.
Falcon Healthcare Group, a subsidiary of Falcon Property Holdings Co Ltd.
The latter is solely owned by Shaheen Jaulim-Joomaye, Dr. Joomaye’s spouse, while Dr. Joomaye himself is the primary shareholder of Falcon Healthcare Group Ltd. Safyr Capital Partners Ltd has Deva Marianen, Vice President of Falcon Healthcare Group, as its main shareholder.
