The Cabinet has given its approval for the Trade (Anti-dumping, Countervailing and Safeguard Measures) (Amendment) Bill to be introduced in the National Assembly.

The objective of the bill is to make amendments to the Trade (Anti-Dumping, Countervailing and Safeguard Measures) Act 2022 in order to align the definition of “negligible” with the World Trade Organisation Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures in countervailing investigations.

Additionally, the bill aims to provide more flexibility in scheduling meetings of the Trade Remedies Investigating Authority.
