Over 6,000 Vacancies Across Various Private Sectors

According to the Labour Market Survey 2023, there are over 6,000 vacant positions available across various private sectors.

This survey, conducted from February to June 2023 in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Statistics Mauritius, and the Human Resource Development Council, indicates that the majority of these vacancies are in manufacturing, real estate, and hospitality.

Companies employing over 500 staff members intend to hire 2,544 employees, while those with 200 to 499 employees plan to recruit 1,104 individuals.

Construction, manufacturing, and cleaning positions constitute significant portions of the available vacancies.

Additionally, 195 employers expressed the need for training in specific roles, such as agricultural and forestry workers.

In commerce, demand exists for salespersons, cashiers, mechanics, and construction labourers.

The report also details 1,116 vacancies in the manufacturing sector (excluding textiles), along with 1,077 in real estate and 1,040 in hospitality.
