PM Launches Campaign to Curb Rising Road Accidents

Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has launched a national road safety awareness campaign in Mauritius, aiming to reduce the rising number of road accidents in the country.

Despite strengthened road controls, Jugnauth expressed concern over an increase in road fatalities in 2023 compared to the previous year.

He stressed the need for a change in mentality and a strict enforcement of traffic rules.

The Prime Minister called on the public to actively participate in reducing road accidents and emphasised that raising awareness is a collective effort involving not only the government but also the private sector and the media.
