In terms of life expectancy in Africa, Mauritius stands at fifth place according to the global demographic outlook from the United Nations.

It also reveals that life expectancy has increased by an average of 10 years per decade over the past two decades in Africa.

This substantial rise over the period indicates an improvement in healthcare services and a growing emphasis on personal health.
