Compulsory SIM Card Re-registration Starting October 31

Do you own a mobile phone. Here’s some news for you! All current mobile phone subscribers will be required to re-register their SIM cards or eSIMs starting from October 31.

This follows the implementation of the Information and Communication Technologies (Registrations of SIM) Regulations 2023, based on recommendations from the Drug Inquiry Commission chaired by former judge Paul Lam Shang Leen in 2018.

In the coming days, mobile operators will explain the registration process, stated Jérôme Louis, Officer in charge of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA).
