Protest Rally Against Fuel Price Hike in Port Louis

Jayen Chellum has announced a rally this Saturday to protest the recent increase in fuel prices in the capital.

The Secretary-General of the Association des Consommateurs de l’île Maurice (ACIM) strongly criticised the taxes imposed on petrol and diesel during a press conference.

Chellum has called on NGOs and labour unions, among others, to come together and challenge the authorities’ decision. You can listen to an excerpt from his speech using the audio player above.
