Chagossian Voices Reacts Firmly After Johnson’s Comments

The UK-based “Chagossian Voices” group has responded resolutely to the remarks made by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who announced in a column published in the Daily Mail on September 22 that the UK was considering returning the Chagos Archipelago to Mauritius.

In the wake of these comments, members of the Chagossian Voices group have penned a letter to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, expressing their viewpoint.

Spokesperson Jean-François Nellan is urging that the Chagossians be included in the forthcoming negotiations, emphasizing that many descendants of the Chagossians aspire to a return to the archipelago.
