International Trade Union Confederation Urges Immediate Reinstatement of Yogita Baboo

The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), headquartered in Belgium, has called for the immediate and unconditional reinstatement of Yogita Baboo.

Luc Triangle, Acting General Secretary of ITUC, has reportedly sent a letter to Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth expressing deep concern over the dismissal of the president of the Air Mauritius Cabin Crew Association (AMCCA) by the national airline.

According to ITUC, this dismissal constituted a blatant violation of her right to freedom of association and expression.

Yogita Baboo was terminated with immediate effect on July 10.

The president of AMCCA had refused to submit to a disciplinary committee established by the management of the national airline following her recent statements on a private radio station.
