Joanna Bérenger, president of the MMM’s Sustainable Development Committee, has challenged the Central Electricity Board (CEB) over the allocation of solar farm contracts worth Rs 5 billion to Corexsolar International.

Responding to a CEB’s press release refuting her claims, Bérenger has contended that “the left hand doesn’t seem to know what the right hand is doing at the CEB.”

She asserted that changing a site after signing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is prohibited, insisting on the significance of projects exceeding Rs 5 billion.

The CEB had earlier claimed that all procedures and provisions were meticulously followed, claiming that consumers will not be adversely affected by the site change.

They refuted Bérenger’s allegations and reserve the right to take necessary actions to set the record straight.
