The government has committed to implementing the National Roadmap for Research and Innovation (NRSI) as outlined by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC).

This includes securing funding for various research and innovation projects. The Minister of ICT and Innovation, Deepak Balgobin, made this announcement during the launch of the second call for proposals for the Innovation Boost Grant.

The MRIC plans to select and fund at least 21 projects across different innovation themes.

Short-term projects will receive up to Rs 1 million in funding over a year, while long-term projects are expected to receive a maximum of Rs 2 million over two years.

Institutions and private enterprises are encouraged to utilise MRIC’s resources for research and innovation endeavours.

The deadline for project submissions is October 16, 2023.
