Semdex Rises 0.27% as Market Showcases Resilience Amidst Shifting Trends

The major stock indices in Mauritius started the final week of August on a positive note. The Semdex, after gaining 0.38% in the previous week, closed at 2,060.01 points on August 28 with a 0.27% increase.

Notable market influences included NMH’s rise by 4.29% to R$ 10.95 and LUX’s gain of 3.90% at Rs 60. Ascencia increased by 0.25% to Rs 2015, while CIEL and IBL rose by 0.29% to Rs 6.82 and 0.22% to Rs 44.60, respectively.

Conversely, SBMH experienced a 0.22% decline to Rs 4.50.

The positive momentum continued despite challenges in the banking sector. MCBG’s shares remained unchanged at Rs 304, with foreign net sellers amounting to Rs 5.4 million.

SBMH saw a 0.22% decrease to Rs 4.49 with 2.2 million shares exchanged.

Innodis faced a 3.75% drop at Rs 34.65, while UDL dipped by 0.45% to Rs 55.
