Cabinet Reshuffle: Jugnauth Appoints 2 New Ministers
Anjiv Ramdhany (l) and Dorine Chukowry(r) are now ministers

Just over a month ahead of the parliamentary session, Prime Minster Pravind Jugnauth has conducted a ministerial reshuffle resulting in significant changes within his cabinet.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the State House in Réduit, introduced key alterations to ministerial portfolios and positions.

Two Parliamentary Private Secretaries (PPS) have been promoted to ministerial roles: Anjiv Ramdhany will now lead the Ministry of Public Service while Dorine Chukowry is the new Minister of Commerce.

Soodesh Callichurn, who previously held two ministerial portfolios – Labour and Commerce – will now exclusively focus on the Ministry of Labour.

Further changes include the redeployment of existing ministers. Maneesh Gobin, while retaining his role as Attorney General (and previously overseeing Agriculture), has been given the responsibility of the Foreign Affairs portfolio.

Vikram Hurdoyal, formerly Minister of Public Service, has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Four new Parliamentary Private Secretaries (PPS) were appointed this evening. The appointees are Vikash Nuckcheddy, Sandra Mayotte, Subhasnee Luchmun-Roy, and Kenny Dhunnoo. This information comes from an official statement released by the Presidency tonight.

In a separate development, Member of Parliament Joanne Tour has been designated as the Deputy Chief Government Whip. This appointment was made by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth. Joanne Tour represents the constituency number 4 (Port-Louis North/Montagne-Longue).
