Bribery Allegations Take Dramatic Turn: PPS Dhaliah Fires Back!

In a surprising twist of events, the spotlight of the Black Label and Stag Party scandal has apparently shifted onto Attorney General and Agro-Industry Minister Maneesh Gobin (right).

According to Le Mauricien newspaper, Me Ravi Rutnah, legal counsel for Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) Rajanah Dhaliah, left, has boldly thrown the ball into Gobin’s court, demanding that the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) investigate Gobin’s potential involvement in the ongoing bribery allegations surrounding State Land leases.

Rutnah’s fiery accusations apparently came during a press conference, where he suggested that the ICAC, in their six-month investigation, hasn’t handled the case adequately since the initial whistleblower, Ajay Jeetoo, exposed the scandal back in March.

“Go seek answers from the minister who holds the power. Go ask those with the authority to allocate land. Seek the truth from Gobin himself.” 

AG Gobin is also the Secretary-General of the MSM ruling party.
