Number of old age pensioners grows by almost 5,000 in one year

The number of beneficiaries receiving old age pensions has risen to 258,834, with an additional 8,961 individuals compared to the previous year.

Notably, the data reveals a substantial increase, as 4,993 retirees have joined the ranks of pensioners between January and July alone.

Some 5,853 individuals aged 60-89 years received Rs11,000, while 4,907 beneficiaries aged 90-99 years received Rs18,710, and 168 beneficiaries aged 100 and above received Rs23,710.
