Mauritius Tourism in 2023 Approaches Pre-COVID-19 Levels

Speaking at the inauguration of the “Salon du Prêt-à-Partir,” (Travel Show) currently being held at the SVICC, in Pailles, he highlighted that over 73,000 Mauritian travellers have already taken flights in the first quarter of the year, suggesting a potential revival of tourism comparable to pre-pandemic times.

Obeegadoo noted the popularity of destinations like Dubai, Réunion, France, India, and South Africa among Mauritian travellers.

He commended the role of travel in enhancing experiences and fostering tolerance, while also praising the organisers of the event and Air Mauritius for their contributions to the industry’s resurgence.
