Election Commission: Targeting 1 Million Voters for the Next Registration Drive

The Election Commission of Mauritius has reported that there are currently 991,327 registered voters across the 20 constituencies of the nation.

With the next registration drive planned for the beginning of the upcoming year, the goal of reaching one million voters seems attainable.

This target could be met if the legislative elections take place after August 16, 2024, which is when the new voter registers will come into effect.

Several constituencies such as Pamplemousses/Triolet (No 5), Savanne/Rivière-Noire (No 14), and La-Caverne/Phoenix (No 15) have crossed the 60,000 mark in terms of registered voters.
